📌Overview
SMC PSE540-M5 remote analog pressure sensor is developed for pneumatic applications with limited installation space. The sensor outputs a 1-5 V analog voltage signal, which is a standard pressure measurement value for pneumatic systems. PSE540-M5 can detect non-corrosive, non-flammable gases. The cable and sensor head are integrally molded and cannot be replaced. The PSE series also includes PSE510 and PSE520 models. The parts of PSE520 that come into contact with the medium are made of stainless steel, allowing the sensor to be extended to certain fluid applications.
✅Benefits
PSE540-M5 detects gas pressure and outputs a 1-5 VDC analog signal for remote pressure reading. Two accuracy versions are available: ±1% FS / ±2% FS of full scale, with repeatability up to ±0.2% FS.
PSE540 is available with 8 different port specifications: M3, M5, 1/8 Rc/NPT male thread, M5 female thread, and φ4/φ6 push-in fittings. The PSE540-M5 model features an M5 × 0.8 port, suitable for installation inside equipment with limited space.
PSE540-M5 is designed for non-corrosive, non-flammable gases. The PSE520 from the same series features a SUS630 diaphragm and SUS304 fitting, providing all-stainless-steel wetted parts.
🔧Precautions for Use
SMC PSE540-M5 is a compact pressure switch / pressure sensor with a pressure range of 1 MPa (10 bar), designed for air pressure detection.
Installation and Air Circuit
- The medium is limited to dry, clean compressed air. Do not allow water, oil, or corrosive gases to enter, as they may damage the internal chip.
- The connection uses a small tube. Do not force the tube into the port. After inserting the tube fully, gently pull it to confirm that it will not come loose. Do not pull or bend the sensor body; hold only the tube fitting when installing or removing the tube.
- Strictly avoid overpressure: The maximum proof pressure is 1 MPa. Never exceed the rated pressure. Impact pressure and instantaneous high pressure are prohibited, as pressure shocks may directly damage the internal pressure-sensing element.
Electrical Wiring
- Check the supply voltage before wiring. Incorrect voltage may directly burn out the device. Confirm the NPN/PNP output type and do not connect the positive and negative power terminals incorrectly.
- Do not repeatedly bend or crush the cable. The fine wires inside the white cable can easily break. Route the cable away from high-voltage power cables to prevent interference from causing false signal triggering.
