Pepperl+Fuchs PHA200-F200A-B17-V1D is a 2D vision sensor developed for precise positioning of vision sensor stacker equipment in automated storage and retrieval systems. 🔧 Installation and Usage Points (Summary)

  1. Calibration: The factory calibration reference for FK-202F2 is JIS SCM440 steel with a flat surface and a diameter greater than 15 mm. When the material or surface of the measured object is different, the characteristics may shift, requiring recalibration at the monitoring device.

  2. Wiring and Shielding: Connect the two ends of the signal cable shield separately to the COM terminal of the transmitter unit and the COM terminal of the monitor.

  3. Connector Protection: The FK-202F2 sensor-to-extension cable connection must use the supplied heat-shrink tubing or fluororesin insulating tape. Ordinary PVC electrical tape is prohibited, as failures may occur under operating conditions above 80°C.

  4. Cable Megohmmeter Test: After performing a megohmmeter test on the signal cable, be sure to discharge any residual electrical charge before connecting the cable to the transmitter unit to prevent damage to the device.

Application Case

Retrofit Replacement of VK Series Legacy Probes on a Centrifugal Compressor in a Refinery

  • Operating Condition: A centrifugal compressor in a refinery hydrogenation unit originally used SHINKAWA VK series eddy current probes. The probes had aged, causing signal drift, while spare parts had been discontinued.
  • Solution: FK-202F2 was adopted for replacement. A 4-screw clamp adapter base was used to directly replace the original VK probes in their existing positions, without modifying the housing openings. A three-core shielded signal cable was used, with the shield connected separately to the COM terminal of the front-end unit and the COM terminal of the monitor to eliminate noise.
  • Key Points: Since the rotor material was not SCM440, on-site calibration was performed at the monitoring system. An MTL7796 safety barrier was configured for the intrinsically safe circuit. Heat-shrink insulating tubing was used for the connector, and ordinary PVC electrical tape was prohibited because it may age and fail at site temperatures above 80°C.
