📌Overview
Emerson AMS Trex Device Communicator is a handheld field commissioning device for instrumentation technicians, supporting two types of field instruments: HART® and FOUNDATION™ fieldbus. The device can be used for instrument configuration and troubleshooting at the production site or on the workbench. The device is not limited by instrument brands and can communicate with field devices from multiple brands. The entire device is equipped with a color LCD touchscreen, lithium-ion power module, processor, and storage components, with optional communication modules available. The accompanying user manual is intended for field instrumentation operation and maintenance personnel and introduces hardware wiring, functional applications, loop and fieldbus diagnostics. The manual also covers the operational differences between the two optional communication modules.
✅Features
Cross-Brand Communication
AMS Trex supports HART and FOUNDATION fieldbus protocols. With EDDL technology, AMS Trex can communicate with field devices manufactured by different vendors without being limited to instruments from a single brand.
AMS Trex can perform parameter configuration for HART/FF fieldbus devices and provide power to a single HART or FF fieldbus device.
AMS Trex is equipped with a color touchscreen and a rechargeable lithium battery pack. Physical buttons are also provided, supporting operation through physical navigation keys and an enter key. Combined with the on-screen soft keyboard, the device supports menu navigation and text and numeric input.
Safety Operating Precautions ⚠️
When using the Trex unit to communicate with devices in explosive environments, all applicable local standards and procedures must be followed.
Before operation, ensure that:
- The Trex unit is not damaged.
- The power module is securely installed.
