Overview

O5D100 is a Time-of-Flight (ToF) principle industrial laser distance sensor launched by German company ifm electronic (IFM). It uses a Class 2 red laser with a measuring range of 30 mm to 2 m, and is mainly designed for applications such as stable distance measurement, background suppression, logistics sorting, robot positioning, packaging inspection, and other industrial scenarios.

The O5D100 sensor is equipped with a 3-digit digital display and setting buttons, and supports diagonal detection of high-gloss mirrored workpieces. The laser compliance follows the U.S. standard 21 CFR 1040.10 and is adapted to the IEC 60825-1 3rd edition standard according to Laser Notice No.56 (2019.5.8). When installed with M5 screws, the maximum tightening torque is 2 Nm.

1. Distance Measurement Core Performance

O5D100 utilizes Time-of-Flight (ToF) distance measurement technology to achieve a maximum detection range of 2 meters, providing a longer measuring distance compared with ordinary photoelectric sensors.

Equipped with an effective background suppression algorithm, it is not affected by the color or background interference of the detected objects. Dark, white, and colorful materials can all be detected, eliminating false triggering caused by background objects.



2. Strong Detection Adaptability

O5D100 supports angular detection of workpieces, without requiring the sensor to be completely perpendicular to the detected surface.

It can detect highly reflective materials such as mirrors and polished metals, solving the issue of reflective misjudgment commonly found in ordinary photoelectric sensors.


3. Convenient and Easy Adjustment

O5D100 is equipped with a 3-digit alphanumeric display and physical setting buttons, allowing the switching trigger point to be set directly on-site without the need for an upper-level controller.

It can display the actual measured distance value in real time, improving debugging and calibration efficiency.

At the same time, parameters can be configured remotely and distance measurement data can be uploaded via the IO-Link bus.
