The Honeywell FSL100-IR3 Triple Infrared Flame Detector is an optical flame detector in the FSL100 series, with a wide detection field of view and the ability to identify both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon open flames. The IR3 Triple Infrared version of the detector is particularly suitable for fire scenarios involving heavy smoke and liquid hydrocarbon contamination, with less impact from lens contamination and smoke obstruction. The housing is made of lightweight GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), with a highly recognizable red version or a discreet white version available for selection. The detector supports indoor and outdoor installation and is used in explosion-proof fire protection scenarios such as petrochemical facilities and storage tanks.

Honeywell FSL100-IR3 Flame Detector | Precautions ⚠️
- The flame must be directly visible (Line of Sight principle). Obstructions such as pipes, brackets, and equipment can directly cause missed detection; flames that are obstructed cannot be detected.
- IR3 relies on the characteristic infrared spectrum of CO₂ generated during combustion, so the detection capability for carbon-free flames (hydrogen flames) is very poor. IR3 should not be selected for hydrogen applications; UV or UV/IR versions should be selected instead.
- Although the detector is resistant to smoke, water condensation, ice formation, and heavy oil contamination on the lens can still attenuate the signal. The product is equipped with pressure compensation, but heavy contamination cannot be completely offset.
- Welding: when the distance is less than 10 feet (3 meters), there is still a risk of false alarms.
