Melissa officinalis L. Perennial herb. The stems are erect or nearly erect, multi-branched, and most of the branches develop in the shape of a tower in the middle or below of the stem, quadrangular, with four shallow grooves, pilose, and the lower part gradually becomes glabrous. The leaves are petiolate, the stems are slender, the blades are oval, the edges are serrated, near membranous or grassy. Parachute inflorescences axillary, with short stalks, 2-14 flowers, calyx bell-shaped, corolla milky white, 12-13 mm long, pilose, crown enamelled, upper lip straight, apex emarginate, lower lip 3-lobed. Small nut oval. Flowering from June to August.
