Product description

Level Classification of Door Lock Cylinders

In the market, door lock cylinders are categorized into three levels: A-level, B-level, and Super B-level (also known as C-level). According to the "National Mechanical Lock Standard," door lock cylinders are classified into A and B levels, with the Super B-level being an enhanced version developed by manufacturers.

1. A-level Lock Cylinder

Currently, A-level anti-theft locks mainly come in two key types: single-sided key and cross-shaped key. The internal structure of A-level lock cylinders is simple, with limited variations in the pins and shallow pin slots. The technical opening time for A-level locks is within 1 minute, and the likelihood of key duplication is high. The pin structures can be either single-row pins or cross-shaped pins.

2. B-level Lock Cylinder

B-level lock cylinders use flat keys with dual-row pin slots. The key surface has an additional row of irregular, curving lines compared to A-level keys. There are three main types of B-level lock cylinders: computer double-row cylinders, double-row moon-shaped cylinders, and double-sided blade cylinders. The technical opening time for B-level locks is within 5 minutes, and the likelihood of key duplication is high. With the use of torsion tools, the lock cylinder can be opened within 1 minute.

3. Super B-level Lock Cylinder (C-level)

The key for Super B-level lock cylinders has either internal milling grooves or external milling grooves in a single-sided blade shape. The lock cylinder type is the edge bar cylinder. According to tests conducted by the Ministry of Public Security, it is unable to be technically opened for 270 minutes, with an extremely low likelihood of regional key duplication (one in 16 million). The pin structure consists of dual-row blades and V-shaped edge bar locking. If a torsion tool is used to open the lock cylinder, the internal mechanism is damaged, leading to self-locking and rendering it impossible to open.

4. Security Comparison of the Lock Cylinder Types

In terms of security, the order of the lock cylinder types is as follows: Super B-level > B-level > A-level. A-level lock cylinders have a simple single-sided single-row pin slot design, with lower security and production costs. It is advisable for consumers not to choose this type of lock cylinder. B-level lock cylinders use double-sided dual-row pin slots, offering higher security. They are commonly used in residential anti-theft doors. Super B-level lock cylinders provide the highest level of security, making it difficult even for professional locksmiths to open them. They offer the maximum level of protection for household security. Therefore, it is recommended to use Super B-level lock cylinders for anti-theft doors.
