1.Introduction

Colchicine, an alkaloid, originally extracted from colchicine of liliaceae plants, hence the name colchicine, also known as colchicine.The pure colchicine was yellow acicular crystal with a melting point of 157℃.

1. Anti-inflammatory effect

Colchicine can reduce the activity, adhesion and chemotaxis of neutrophils by interfering with lysosomal degranulation, and inhibit the migration of neutrophils to inflammatory areas, thus playing an anti-inflammatory role.

2. Inhibition

Colchicine could significantly inhibit fibroblasts proliferation, inhibition of collagen type (Ⅰ, Ⅲ) mRNA expression and protein synthesis secretion, promote collagen enzyme activity, promote matrix gold protease (MMP) 1, MMP - 9 activity increased, thus reducing the generation of collagen and deposition, promote collagen breakdown, have the effect of anti fibrosis.

Colchicine can lower body temperature, inhibit respiratory center, enhance the effect of sympathetic drugs, constriction of blood vessels, raise blood pressure.
