Product Description
Niobium zirconium tube
Niobium Zirconium Alloy

Niobium-zirconium alloy refers to an alloy composed of metal niobium and metal zirconium. The most important niobium zirconium alloy is Nb-1Zr alloy. Adding zirconium to niobium can increase the strength of the alloy without affecting the plasticity and processing properties of the alloy. Zirconium can also improve the oxidation resistance and alkali metal corrosion resistance of the alloy. Nb-1Zr alloy is the most widely used niobium alloy. It is a low-strength niobium alloy with good processing and welding properties. It is mainly used in aerospace, atomic energy reactors, new electric light source sodium lamps and other applications.

Nb-Zr alloy

Niobium-zirconium alloy refers to an alloy composed of metal niobium and metal zirconium. The most important niobium-zirconium alloy is the Nb-1Zr alloy.
Zirconium mainly exists in a solid solution state in niobium alloys. When there are traces of oxygen and carbon, or when traces of carbon are added, a small amount of carbides and oxides will be dispersed and precipitated. Adding zirconium to niobium can increase the strength of the alloy without affecting the plasticity and processing properties of the alloy. Zirconium can also improve the oxidation resistance and alkali metal corrosion resistance of the alloy.

According to the requirements for its performance and the purity of the interstitial impurities (carbon, oxygen, nitrogen) contained in the use, the Nb-1Zr alloy is produced by consumable electric arc furnace, electron beam furnace or the combined melting process of the two. For products with lower purity requirements, alloy ingots can also be pressed and sintered by mixing niobium powder and zirconium powder.
The smelted alloy ingot needs to be hot-extruded or hot-forged, and then processed by forging and rolling to make various profiles. Powder sintered ingots can be directly processed into materials.

Nb-1Zr alloy is the most widely used niobium alloy. It is a low-strength niobium alloy with good processing and welding properties. It is mainly used in aerospace, atomic energy reactors, new electric light source sodium lamps and other applications.

Niobium-zirconium alloy is a binary alloy composed of zirconium-based element niobium, and its basic composition is Zr-1%Nb and Zr-2.5Nb%.
Niobium-zirconium alloy has good corrosion resistance to acid, alkali and salt.
Niobium-zirconium alloys have good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties against high temperature and high pressure water and steam at 300-400 °C.
The most prominent feature of niobium-zirconium alloy is that it can grow a new protective oxide film at the place where the oxide film peels off, and there is no obvious corrosion turning point.
The tensile strength is 84MPa, the yield strength is 78MPa, and the elongation is 15%.
It is produced by consumable electrode smelting process.
Niobium-zirconium alloys are used as cladding materials for heavy water reactors, nuclear power plants and submarine reactors.
