The role of magnesium sulfate in concrete
1. Magnesium sulfate can be used as an early strength agent and antifreeze;
The mechanism of action is as follows:
When MgS04 is introduced into the hydration system, the decomposed Mg ions can quickly react with the OH ions produced by cement hydration to form crystals, promote the dissolution of Ca ions, and provide a large number of crystal nuclei to crystallize the hydration products, and promote the hydration of each phase in cement, especially CS, and make the rapid development of early strength.
2. The early strengthening agent magnesium sulfate and the efficient water reducing agent polycarboxylic acid and the efficient water reducing agent are used for compound use, which has the effect of plasticizing, water reduction, early strength and later enhancement.
3. Enhance the strength of the cement hardened body. This is because of its crystalline phase mesh layout formed together with MgO and water. The layout can withstand strong pressure.
4. Mixed use of magnesium sulfate and cement makes the product have very good fire performance.
5. Magnesium sulfate itself has a very good antifreeze properties, so magnesium sulfate cement also has a very good low-temperature antifreeze performance.
