Scientific name: Cyanotis arachnoidea C. B. Clarke is a plant of the blue ear genus of Commelinae family, a perennial herb. Root-bearded, sturdy, nearly 2 mm in diameter. The main stem is sterile, short, with multiple clumped leaves. The leaves on the main stem are clumped, gramineous or banded, 8-35 cm long and 0.5-1.5 cm wide, with sparsely cobweb-like hairs nearly glabrous. The scorpion-shaped cymes are clustered at the top of the branches or the leaf axils, and are sessile and head-like. Capsules are small, wide, oblong, triangular, 2.5 mm long, densely slender and bristly at the top. The seeds are gray-brown with small holes. Flowering period is 6-9, and fruiting period is October.
