Ganoderma lucidum (scientific name: Ganoderma Lucidum Karst) is a fruiting body of the fungus Ganoderma lucidum in the family Polyporaceae. Its shape is umbrella-shaped, the cap is kidney-shaped, semi-circular or nearly circular. Ganoderma lucidum is recorded in the Compendium of Materia Medica edited by Li Shizhen, a great medical scientist in the Ming Dynasty.
Mainly distributed in Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Hunan, Anhui, Guizhou, Heilongjiang, Jilin and other places in China. Ganoderma generally grows in mountainous forests with high humidity and low light, and mainly grows on the roots of rot trees or their trees.
