Vitamin B2 (chemical formula: C17H20N4O6, formula weight 376.37), also known as riboflavin, is slightly soluble in water and is stable when heated in a neutral or acidic solution. It is a component of the protease group of the yellow enzyme in the body (the yellow enzyme plays a role of hydrogen delivery in biological redox). When it is lacking, it affects the biological oxidation of the body and makes the metabolism disorder. The lesions are mostly manifested as inflammation of the mouth, eyes and external genital area, such as angular cheilitis, cheilitis, glossitis, conjunctivitis and scrotum, etc., so this product can be used for the prevention and treatment of the above diseases. The storage of vitamin B2 in the body is very limited, so it must be provided by the diet every day. Two properties of vitamin B2 are the main causes of its loss: (1) it can be destroyed by light; (2) it can be destroyed by heating in alkaline solution.
