Gentiana rigescens Franch. Ex Hemsl. Is a perennial herb, 30-50 cm tall. Fibrous fleshy. Main stem thick and branched. Flowering branches numerous, tufted, erect, hard, purple or yellow-green, hollow, nearly round. Flowers are numerous, clustered branch ends are apical, sparsely axillary or clustered branch tips; pedicels; calyx obverse cone-shaped, lobes green; corolla blue-purple or blue, crown eaves mostly dark blue spots, funnel-shaped or bell-shaped. Capsules are built-in, oval or lanceolate; seeds are yellow-brown, shiny, oblong, and honeycomb-shaped on the surface. Flowers and fruits from August to December.
