Honeysuckle vine is a dry stem of the honeysuckle family Lonicera japonica Thunb. Harvested in the autumn and winter seasons and dried. It is long cylindrical, multi-branched, often wrapped into bundles, and the diameter is 1.5-6mm. The surface is brownish red to dark brown, some grayish green, smooth or hairy; the outer skin is easy to peel off. There are many nodes on the branch, the internode length is 6-9cm, and there are residual leaves and leaf marks. Brittle, easy to break, yellowish white in section, hollow. No odor, slightly bitter old branches, light twigs
